The Oglesby Charitable Trust

The Oglesby Charitable Trust

The Charitable Trust was established in 1992 by the Oglesby family. The funding of the Trust comes from annual contributions from Bruntwood Limited, part of a group of North West based property investment companies owned by the founding Trustees.

The Trust has been established to support charitable activities across a broad spectrum and looks to place funds in areas where the Trust can make a real and measurable impact.

Members of the Oglesby family run the Trust themselves on a nil overheads basis, ensuring that every penny generated through the Trust goes to a worthy cause. The Trust has now become one of the largest giving charities in the north of England, donating over £4 million to various charities and initiatives over the last five years.

The Trust's focus is to award grants that will create a real and measurable impact, with the Trustees deliberately choosing to support projects in the early stages of their activity, ideally helping them to shape the project and leverage funds from other sources. The goal is to give organisations a hand to get a project underway, with support through the first few years, and then to move on once it has become established.
