I would be discussing some aspects on making India competitive in the new knowledge economy. This is based on a multi institutional project funded by the Department of Information Technology. The presentation will introduce the concept and its main elements with reference to the four pillars as identified by the World Bank. These were operationalised in the context of the 3 sectors of the economy –Agiculture, Industry and Services. Insights drawn from stakeholders meet will be explained in relation to the gaps identified that can be taken forward as policy implications for leveraging India within a global knowledge economy
