                                                                      PROFILE OF DR. B.P.S PARMAR, MS (SURG), FMAS, FIAGES, DALS LAPAROSCOPIC SURGEON

After completing his MS (Surgery), from GMC, Amritsar in 2001, he joined Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi as a registrar for a period of 3 months. He was later selected as a Senior Resident in the Deptt. Of Surgery, PGI Chandigarh where he worked under Prof. J D Wig. He joined Parmar Hospital in January 2004 and has been performing various Laparoscopic & GI surgeries in this institution. He has done 2 post-doctoral fellowships in Laparoscopic surgery & Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopy. He had been an observer at Dept. of Minimal Access of Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York (USA) in May 2007. He has also visited the Dept. of Minimal Access Surgery at Seoul University Medical Centre under Prof. Kim in Dec 2006. Completed Observership for 2 weeks under Dr. Kelvin Higa in June 2011 in Bariatric Surgery at Fresno Heart and Surgery Hospital, Fresno, California (USA).

AWARDS/PUBLICATIONS/PRESENTATIONS 

- Has been awarded the  BEST VIDEO PRESENTATION AWARD at The International College of Surgeons (Indian Section) Conference held at Amritsar in Sept 2009 for Laparoscopic Management of Gastric Outlet Obstruction 

- Was awarded the BEST VIDEO PRESENTATION AWARD for the second successive year at the annual conference of International College of Surgeons (Indian Section) held at Pune in November 2010 for Laparoscopic Management of Gastric Lieomyoma

- An Article on  Laparoscopic Management of Left Paraduodenal Hernia (Unusual Case) published in Journal of Minimal Access Surgery in December 2010.
