Doctoral Consortium

Doctoral Consortium at ICVGIP 2023 aims to provide a platform for PhD students who are expected to defend their PhD theses on or after 1 January 2024 to present a summary of their research work and career plans to the ICVGIP community. A senior member of the community will be assigned as a mentor for each student based on the student's preference or similarity of research interests. In addition, each student will present a poster, either describing their thesis research or a single recent paper, to the other participants and their mentors.

Senior PhD students in their third year or later are welcome to submit a summary of their work using the ICVGIP 2023 standard submission template in not more than 2 pages with one additional page containing only references. The scope of the work should be within the broad areas related to the topics in the ICVGIP 2023 call for papers.

Note to the selected doctoral consortium (DC) attendees: You are automatically registered to attend the DC and full conference. There is no need to explicitly register in the ICVGIP website. Also, complementary accommodation is provided in campus student hostels for you. However, you are requested to fill in the accommodation form https://www.iitrpr.ac.in/ICVGIP/accomodation.htm

Submission Guidelines

Students that meet the eligibility requirements should submit an application using a web form (to be made available in Mid October). The applicant must submit the following as a single pdf file:

1. The applicant's CV (maximum 2 pages).
2. A two-page research statement summarizing the applicant's research and progress to date.
3. The title and author list of the poster that will be presented at the symposium, which may or may not be presented at ICVGIP as well.
4. A signed note from their advisor confirming the date of graduation and stating the advisor’s availability as a mentor.

Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Review Process

If all applications cannot be supported, selection will be based on the above material and the student's graduation date.
