The Department offers a comprehensive B.Tech. program in Mechanical Engineering that provides students with the flexibility to pursue minors in a wide range of interdisciplinary fields, thereby equipping them with a broader perspective and diverse skill set to meet the evolving demands of industry and research. At the postgraduate level, the Department offers specialized M.Tech. programs in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanics & Design, Thermal & Fluids Engineering, and Computational Mechanics, each designed to provide in-depth knowledge, advanced technical expertise, and research-oriented learning opportunities. The faculty members are organized into three core groups – Design, Manufacturing, and Thermal. Within these groups, the Department actively engages in cutting-edge research and development in several prominent areas, including Additive Manufacturing technologies, Bio-Mechanical Engineering applications, Energy Efficiency and Sustainability solutions, Intelligent Mechanical Systems, and Micro/Nano Engineered Systems.
