Dr. Srikant Sekhar Padhee

Associate Professor
PhD, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, India

Dr. Srikant Sekhar Padhee is a composites and aerospace engineering researcher with expertise in multi-functional composites, micromechanics, and multi-scale modeling. He earned his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, where he developed advanced micromechanics models for fiber-reinforced composites under the guidance of Prof. Dineshkumar Harursampath. He also holds an M.Tech. in Smart Materials and Structures from IIT Kanpur and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from VSSUT, Burla.

Dr. Padhee has held research and engineering positions at GE Global Research Center, the NMCAD Lab (IISc Bangalore), Ashok Leyland, and as a lecturer at UCE Burla. His work focuses on the development and analysis of innovative composites with applications in energy absorption, self-healing, fatigue resistance, and aerospace structures, using advanced computational tools such as Abaqus, LS-Dyna, and HyperMesh.

He has received notable recognition, including an ERASMUS Mundus Fellowship (2010) to work at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and an All-India Rank of 53 in GATE 2002 (99.67 percentile). Dr. Padhee has published in reputed journals, presented at international conferences, and contributed to sponsored projects funded by Boeing and ARDB. His academic contributions also include teaching and mentoring in continuum mechanics, nonlinear composites, and smart structures.
