Dr. Sachin Kumar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar. He embarked on his academic career with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, graduating in 2008. His pursuit of advanced knowledge led him to Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, where he earned his Master’s degree in 2010. Furthering his specialization, he obtained his PhD from IIT Roorkee in 2015. During his doctoral studies, he focused on the development of numerical methods for the failure analysis of engineering structures. His research interests are centered on the development of numerical frameworks for the damage and fracture analysis of various materials, including metals, composites, and soft/hard tissues. Before joining IIT Ropar, he served as a Research Fellow at the prestigious National University of Singapore, where he contributed to cutting-edge research projects. Following this, he took on the role of Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur, further honing his teaching and research skills.
