Biography:
Dr. Danveer Singh is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, IIT Ropar. He received his undergraduate and postgraduate, BS-MS, from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. He also did his PhD from IISER Pune. He has been working in the field of light-matter interaction at the nano/micro-scale dimension. During his master's project and PhD, he worked on the development of advanced microscopy and spectroscopy systems and optical properties of plasmonic and 2D materials. As a research associate at Tel-Aviv University, he has investigated a novel method to shape laser beams and plasmonic beams. During his second position as a senior research associate, he demonstrated light manipulation using structured surfaces (designed metasurfaces) in the mid-IR to IR region of the wavelength spectrum.
He has been awarded prestigious fellowships such as INSPIRE (SHE), DST scholarship, INSPIRE (AORC), DST Fellowship and many more fellowships for further research work and travel grants. His research interest focused on the area of light-matter interaction at the nanoscale.
