After completing his doctoral work in 2005, Dr. Dasgupta moved to University of Southern California to carry out post-doctoral work in the area of geometric phase in open quantum systems. In 2007, he started working on quantum dots with Professor Paul Brumer at University of Toronto. He joined IIT Ropar as an Assistant Professor of Physics in 2009. Dr. Dasgupta is interested in the areas of various aspects of quantum optics, PT-symmetric Hamiltonians, quantum sensing, quantum synchronization, orbital angular momentum of light, and quantum thermodynamics. He has also been working on light propagation in random periodic structures. He has several publications in these areas.
