Dr. Smruti Ranjan Behera has a Ph.D. from the Delhi School of Economics. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the Department of HSS at IIT Ropar in March 2013. Presently, working as an Associate Professor (Economics) at IIT Ropar, India. His research interests include industrial organization specific to agglomeration and urban economics; FDI and technology spillovers; regional spillovers; patents and the economics of innovation; open-economy macroeconomics; microeconometrics; time-series analysis; spatial econometrics; and panel-data econometrics. He has more comprehensive experience in teaching and research, and he mainly teaches applied econometrics, econometrics, urban economics, and macroeconomics to undergraduate and postgraduate students at IIT Ropar. He has published many scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals like Environment and Planning B, Regional Studies, Regional Science, Economic Modelling, Economics of Innovation and New Technology, International Review of Applied Economics, Singapore Economic Review, Applied Economics Letters, International Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Asymmetries, Cogent Economics and Finance, Finance and Space, Indian Growth & Development Review, etc.
